Choose the Discovery family funeral plan that best suits you! Discovery Life offers two funeral plans – The Essential Funeral Plan and The Classic Funeral Plan – with cover starting from as little as R53 per month.
Essential Funeral Plan – Discovery Family Funeral Plan
The Essential Funeral Plan includes the following:
- Cover of between R10000 and R60000
- Benefit paid within 24 hours of a successful claim
- Double cover for main member and spouse in the case of accidental death
- Education benefit: lump sum payment to help cover children’s education costs (between R2400 and R3900 depending on specific plan)
- Memorial benefit: lump sum payment of R5000 for main member and spouse towards costs of unveiling
- Grocery benefit: lump sum payment to help provide household essentials (between R1200 and R3000 depending on specific plan)
- Lump sum payment if a child dies within its first three months or is stillborn
- Continued cover (without paying premiums) for spouse and children for one year after main member’s death (providing spouse is younger than 65 at time of main member’s death)
- Cover for up to 15 people on a single plan
Classic Funeral Plan – Discovery Family Funeral Plan
The Classic Funeral Plan includes the following:
- Cover of between R10000 and R60000
- Benefit paid within 24 hours of a successful claim
- Double cover for main member and spouse in the case of accidental death
- Education benefit: lump sum payment to help cover children’s education costs (between R3000 and R4500 depending on specific plan)
- Memorial benefit: lump sum payment of R5000 for main member and spouse towards costs of unveiling
- Grocery benefit: lump sum payment to help provide household essentials (between R1800 and R3600 depending on specific plan)
- Lump sum payment if a child dies within its first three months or is stillborn
- Continued cover (without paying premiums) for spouse and children for one year after main member’s death (providing spouse is younger than 65 at time of main member’s death)
- Cover for up to 15 people on a single plan
- Premium payback benefit: annual payback of percentage of premiums from the second year of the policy
Both plans are offered through Discovery Life, which offers all forms of cover to protect you and your family against uncertainties. Discovery Life’s funeral plans can be integrated with other Discovery products and the user will then qualify for various discounts.
